Design Research

During my master I got interested in doing academic design research. During the elective Research Methods, I got interested in the subject curating digital personal photo collections. I continued with this subject during a semester at the research group Materialising Memories in Sydney, Australia. Here I investigated how we could stimulate people to organize their personal digital photo collections. I designed and built two smartphone applications, which were tested and compared together with two commercial available smartphone applications during a qualitative lab study.

We wrote a paper about the findings we did during the elective Research Methods that was submitted and accepted at the ACE conference. As a first author I presented this paper at the conference. Read here how it went
