Interactive Materiality

This master course was about exploring material properties and shaping a new interactive material by combining different materials and electronics.

As a group we designed Tex 120°: A shape changing interacting surface that allows for exploring with the hands and fingers. It has flex sensors embedded into its base that allows it to detect user input through pressure and displacement. In combination with two actuators an interactive interplay is established, letting the material function as both a tactile display and interface.
